Our 2020 Tannat has aromas of blueberry, black cherry, and black pepper. The color is a rich purple-red and the flavor is well-balanced, with pleasing tannic structure and moderate acidity. There is a slight earthiness to this vintage that provides a nice balance to the notes of dark fruits.
This wine will pair well with rich and fatty foods, but it is also lovely simply standing on its own.

Winemaker Notes
Our tannat vineyard is a tiny 1/2 acre split up into two 1/4 acre blocks. Yields are moderate but still only about 1.5 tons total! We irrigate one block and dry farm the other to create two different expressions of this amazing grape. The irrigated block brings softer tannins and more red fruit character. The dry farmed blocks have big aggressive tannins that Tannat is known for and a nice earthiness to it. Each lot is fermented in individual small batches and aged in french oak for 18-24 months. We then blend the two lots back together in a ratio that creates the perfect balance between fruit and tannin making this wine great to drink alone for your bold wine lovers and or to pair with that grilled t-bone to help soften those massive tannins.
